Meet Janelle
I grew up in country Victoria with sport filled-weekends and endless summers. I started my career in Melbourne and then decided to move to London and worked in a variety of risk and governance roles. Exploring the other side of the world, for more than a dozen years, gave me a strong appreciation of doing things in different ways and the rich diverse cultures that make life amazing. I moved back to Melbourne to be closer to all things that are important to me and to join the NAB team.
I am passionate about the volunteer work I do with young people and those in need. I’m on the Girl Guides Australia Board working with a group of dedicated and talented women. Together, we are helping to build a sustainable organisation for girls to explore who they are to their fullest potential.
Making a Difference - Every Day
I make a difference in my approach to everyday pieces of work thinking of all the different possibilities and looking for the broadest set of options from which to make decisions. It’s the little things in life that matter and it’s the little things that make up big things. I take the time to engage with our customers when I’m out shopping to hear their stories and be inspired by them. In my current role, I support the governance arrangements with some of our key external partnerships to bring industry-leading products to our customers. I work in a small team and we focus on bringing the customer into the heart of everything we do. I have a lot of time for creating and growing talent within our teams and challenge myself to constantly do more to help people realise their full potential. Outside of work I try to make a difference to the people, friends and family in my life. I would liken myself to a modern day fairy godmother that is constantly doing ten things at once to create lifelong memories and moments.
